Its core expertise includes professional Excel/VBA development, process automation, digital transformation, and custom software solutions. We are looking for a professional software engineer with strong Excel/VBA expertise — not simply an advanced Excel user who has created macros as part of a finance, controlling or business analysis role.
Your role is:
- Design, build and support business applications based on Excel, VBA and other Microsoft Office technologies
- Build solutions using modular application architecture, classes and reusable components
- Write high-quality, maintainable and properly documented code within an established development framework and shared codebase
- Implement structured error handling, debugging and systematic testing practices
- Work with data structures, databases, external data sources and integrations with other systems
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and implementation to code review, testing and release
- Work collaboratively using Git-based development workflows
- Participate in development sprints and contribute to continuous improvements of engineering standards and shared components
- Make effective use of AI-supported development tools while remaining fully accountable for solution architecture, security, correctness and overall code quality
- Participate in client and project meetings, discuss technical and business requirements and present completed functionality together with the Product Owner
Your skills and experiences:
- Several years of professional software development experience, with significant commercial experience developing solutions in Excel/VBA
- Proven experience building and maintaining complex Excel/VBA business applications, rather than only scripts, reports or isolated macros
- Very good understanding of software engineering principles, including:
- modular application architecture
- object-oriented concepts and VBA classes
- reusable components
- structured error handling
- debugging and testing
- maintainable and documented code - Experience working with databases and external data sources from Office/VBA applications
- Experience using Git or another professional version-control workflow
- Ability to understand and contribute to an existing framework and shared codebase
- Experience working within a structured development process involving reviews, testing and releases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of ownership for delivered software
- Confidence working directly with customers and discussing both requirements and delivered solutions
- Strong spoken and written English — you will actively participate in project meetings and client presentations
